Martha Jean (“The Queen”) Steinberg, a well-known spiritual leader, community activist, radio station owner and on-air personality had a dream for her beloved City. “The Queen” believed that for Detroit to truly be a Renaissance City "Lady Detroit", we must start by “Reaching Children and Helping Families with Excellence and Love”. In 1994 TOFM Head Start began serving the children and families of Midtown rooted strongly in this philosophy, Today, we believe this philosophy is our greatest strength!

To provide quality, efficient and effective services to pre-school age children and their families in a holistic, innovative learning environment.
Vision
The vision of TOFM Head Start is to help children and families through excellence and love. We do this by promoting education, self-awareness, self-sufficiency, financial literacy and exposure to local and global opportunities in a compassionate, safe, clean, professional environment that motivates and inspires while preparing them for life.
